HOW DOES THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH WORK? EXPLAINED FOR HOME OWNERS AND CUSTOMERS

AN EXPLANATION FOR HOME OWNERS AND CUSTOMERS ON WHAT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH IS AND AN EASY BREAK DOWN OF HOW IT WORKS.

THE TRANSFER SWITCH IS A DEVICE INSTALLED INBETWEEN YOUR UTILITY POWER , TYPICALLY COMING FROM OUT AT THE STREET OR POLE, AND YOUR MAIN ELECTRICAL PANEL WITH BREAKERS POWERING YOUR HOME.

IN THE EVENT A POWER OUTAGE OCCURS, THE TRANSFER SWITCH WILL DETECT A LOSS OF POWER COMING FROM YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER OUT, AND AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH FROM THAT UTILITY POWER, TO THE GENERATOR POWER.

THE TRANSFER SWITCH WILL SEND A SIGNAL TO YOUR GENERATOR TO START UP, (WHICH WILL RUN OFF NATURAL GAS OR PROPANE) AND PROVIDE POWER BACK TO YOUR MAIN ELECTRICAL PANEL. WHICH WILL RESTORE THE POWER BACK TO YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.

WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH, WHEN POWER IS RESTORED FROM YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER OUT AT THE STREET OR POLE, THE TRANSFER SWITCH WILL SEND A SIGNAL TO THE GENERATOR TO SHUT OFF, AND SWITCH THE POWER BACK TO YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER.

TO SUM IT UP, THIS DEVICE AND APPLICATION IS USED TO START AND TURN OFF YOUR GENERATOR, AND RESTORE POWER BACK TO YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS AS NECESSARY IN THE EVENT OF A POWER OUTAGE 'AUTOMATICALLY' WITH NO ASSISTANCE OR MANUAL SWITCHING FROM CUSTOMER.
